Bill Kim of the Honolulu Advertiser described this as one of the worst decision in the history of Honolulu, as he had Shinn ahead by a wide margin. Moore knocked Shinn down in the 10th round with a right to the chin, for a nine-count, while Shinn had put Moore down in the 2nd round. Shinn outboxed Moore through most of the bout, as his speed bewildered Moore at times.
