Harry Stone 140 lbs lost to Fred Kay 149 lbs by PTS in round 20 of 20
- Date: 1917-12-22
- Location: Sydney Stadium, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
- Referee: Arthur Scott
By using his left hand in brilliant fashion, Fred Kay succeeded in outpointing Harry Stone at the Sydney Stadium on Saturday night.
The American, though conceding more than half a stone in weight, repeatedly rushed Kay, and hammered his ribs. The Australian soon began to use his left, and it landed heavily on Stone's body and head. It shook Stone several times, but did not weaken him.
Both men boxed strongly to the end of the contest. There were many exciting rallies, and enough hard punching to satisfy the spectators. The weights were: Kay, 10.9; Stone, 10.0.
