Hutchinson put up a spirited resistance in the first three rounds, before tiring under the pace set by Jack. Jack began to pound Hutchinson in the 3rd and 4th round, as he had him bleeding from the mouth and over his left eye. Hutchinson's face was a bloody mess by the 6th round, with the referee stopping the bout twice to ask Hutchinson if he wanted to continue. The referee eventually stopped the bout, as Hutchinson couldn't defend himself.
