Neary gave Jack trouble into the 2nd round. After landing three rights in succession on Jack in the 2nd round, Neary was hit by a left hook from Jack, that put him down for a nine-count. Jack dropped Neary again in the opening moment of the 3rd round, with another left. Jack would knock Neary down three more times, before the round ended, with Neary on the floor. Neary took two more nine-counts in the 4th round, and was down for one in the 5th round as well. After Jack put Neary down for the second time in the 5th round, the bout was halted.
