Alter, who substituted for Walter Cabey Lewis was cut on the left eyelid in the 3rd round, and was trailing badly through six rounds. In the 7th round, Alter dropped Trader with a left hook to the jaw. Trader barely beat the count at nine, and went in and attempted to trade with Alter, before he was knocked out with a right cross.
