Summary
- Julio Garcia came straight at J.C. Candelo as soon as the bell ringed for the start of Round 1. Candelo proved that he could handle Garcia's unrelenting attack and Garcia's inability to adept ultimately lead to his undoing.
- Garcia threw many more punches than Candelo, but Candelo covered up and weathered Garcia's attack. As soon as Garcia took a break, Candelo was all over him. In the later rounds, Garcia kept on trying to press the action, but it became obvious Garcia was tiring. In the 8th round, Garcia ran out of gas and Candelo scored with a flury of punches. Garcia was knocked down at the 2:11, but managed to get up. Another knockdown happened at the 2:32 mark and the fight was stopped by the ref.
