Previously, this was shown here a a win for Hamilton, but Jones received a strongly criticized decision. Also, it was alleged that Frank P. Oglesby once owned a part of Jones's contract, but Oglesby claimed that he had not managed Jones, who had only carried newspapers for him at one tine. There is no mention made of the decision being changed from a win for Jones. The Louisville Courier-Journal felt that Hamilton outboxed Jones throughout, and had winning by four points on their card.
