Devlin knocked Randall down for a two-count in the 2nd round. Randall wobbled Devlin in the 3rd, and drew blood from his left ear, which bled profusely. Devlin was forced to quit with an injury to his jaw.

The Allentown Morning Call later reported that the cause of Devlin's stoppage was a dislodged tooth that was lodged in Devlin's throat, causing him to choke. Devlin however did go in for treatment of a broken jaw on April 12th in Allentown.
