Greer caught Adkins with a hook to the head, that hurt him in the 8th round. Adkins elected to trade with Greer, and was eventually rendered helpless along the ropes, and the bout was stopped. Adkins had attempted to fight in spurts, after having tired in his prior stoppage loss to Greer.
