Referee Murphy stopped the bout after Jackson had been floored five times in less than two rounds: "Dardeen was too tough for the Canadian, his solid lefts finding Jackson's body and head, crashing through his guard to stagger him time and again. Three times Jackson went down in the fourth, each time from a crashing left that forced him to take a nine count before he again staggered to his feet. A valiant effort to rally at the start of the fifth was unsuccessful and Dardeen floored the Canadian twice more before Murphy raised his hand." Daily News Searchlight
