Jim McVey 183 lbs beat Red O'Malley 192 lbs by TKO in round 4 of 10

• Date: 1938-09-21
• Location: Auditorium, Oakland, California, USA
• Referee: Billy Burke

O'Malley was floored by a right hand to the head in the 4th round, and appeared to have possibly not beaten the ten-count. The referee, nonetheless, let the bout continue, but O'Malley was in a groggy state, and the bout was stopped shortly thereafter.
