Wallace knocked down Berlier at the end of the 1st round, with the count at seven when the bell rang, and Berlier appearing to be out. In the 2nd round, Wallace knocked down Berlier for a three-count with a left hand. Berlier held on, but was soon dropped for a third time with a right hand. Berlier held his own through the 5th round, but was staggered by a right hand in the 6th round. In the 7th round, Wallace finished Berlier with a right hand to the jaw.
This bout had originally been scheduled for May 25th, but was cancelled due to heavy rain in New Orleans.
