Heavyweight prospect Donnell "The Real Touch of Sleep" Holmes improved to 8-0 in his first headlining appearance with a 3rd round stoppage of Clarence Goins in the Center Stage at the Plex. Holmes used a chopping right to cut Goins down to size, dropping him three times in the 2nd round and twice in the 3rd round before the referee Bo Bo Brinson called a stop to the action at 1:37 of the third round.
