Davis knocked down Friedkin with a left hook to the jaw in the 4th round. Friedkin rose at the count of eight, but was unsteady and slumped back to the canvas. The referee stopped the bout. Friedkin had been a 2-to-1 favorite. This bout had originally been scheduled for Dexter Park two weeks before, but had been cancelled four times because of rain.
