Holderfield dominated the early rounds, despite being knocked down by a left hook to the jaw in 4th round, for a nine-count. Holderfield fought back furiously after the knockdown, and had Falco reeling by the end of the 4th round. Falco won the 7th and 8th rounds, as he rallied later in the bout.
