Lewis had a slight edge in the 1st round, scoring a few rights to the chin. Early in the 2nd, the two clinched; as Rafferty tried to spin Lewis around, he was hit by a left hook that knocked him down. Rafferty rose on wobbly legs at the count of seven, and tried to hold on to Lewis. Lewis broke free, and clipped Rafferty with a right hand, followed by a left hook to the jaw, which sent Rafferty down for the ten count.
