Jim Williams is a hard and aggressive fighter but was no match for Thomas. In the fourth round, Thomas feinting right and left, sent a short arm right to Williams jaw. He dropped, took the count and was so dazed when his seconds got him to his feet he staggered toward Thomas and would have fallen if his seconds had not grabbed his arms and held him up.
