According to the January 2, 1915 Tacoma Times, although Joe Bonds beat Al Norton, Norton's hometown Kansas City newspapers reported that he had KO'd Bonds "after giving him a terrible beating." [1] (Perhaps Norton's manager had relayed that incorrect information to papers back home.)
