Rock hurt Canata with a right hand to the jaw. Canata attempted to box his way out of trouble, but was hurt further by a right uppercut to the chin. Rock went into finish Canata, and eventually landed a right cross that sent Canata flying through the ropes. Canata rose from the punch and was floored again for seven, from a heavy attack from Rock. Canata rose on rubbery legs, and after Rock's follow-up attack floored him for a third time, the referee stopped the bout.
