  • On February 18, 2001, Ron Krull posted the following claims/information about this fight to the Usenet group rec.sport.boxing:

"The guy [i.e., Kim] offered me 500 dollars to take a dive...He promotes his own shows in Va...in the third round he said he would give me a grand if i fell right there...He was scared to fight...I really looked like s**t and should have ended the fight sooner, but the little rock head took some shots...All my knuckles are very bruised...I broke my right glove open after i hit him the last time...Call him what you want, but he took some heavy blows and stayed up, and i know i can bring the leather..."

Ron Krull, in a telephone conversation on April 27, 2006, claims to have never made such a post, stating, in fact, that he doesn't even own a computer and can barely use one. He also added that he is aware that someone uses his name on websites and pretends to be him.

In a conversation with Han Kim, who, in fact, is a promoter in Northern VA, Kim states that he never made such an offer to Krull, and that furthermore, he was threatened into going ahead with the fight by a well-known Philadelphia matchmaker in spite of suffering a bad pinched nerve in his neck on the day of the fight and that he still suffers to this day from the aggravation caused to the neck injury by Krull's blows.
