The bout was stopped by the ringside physician due to heavy swelling on Moore's right eye. Moore took a heavy pounding in the 1st round, which led to two judges scoring the round 10-8 for Aquino. Moore had taken the bout out after WBC Super welterweight champion Duane Thomas was injured a week before the bout.
