Virgil Akins of St.Louis won a unanimous eight-round decision over Henry Hank of Detroit last night in the featured bout at Motor City Arena. Akins, weighing 153, floored Hank, 149 ¼, twice – once in the first round and again in the third. Both were for nine counts. Hank made his best showing in the second round when he started a counterattack after barely surviving the first-round knockdown. The veteran Akins was never in difficulty.
