Notch although pumping his left steadily rarely elected to take the lead. Once the aggressive Tribuani really went to work he dealt out some real punishment. Tribuani was peanalized in the fifth round for continuing to punch Notch after the latter had been caught between the strands and outside the ropes. This was only one of several incidents initiated by both fighters. Rough fought bout. A much disputed decision. Attendance 5, 500. The current lightweight champion Bob Montgomery and promotor Herman Taylor attended.
