Flynn dominated the early portions of the bout, flooring Burroughs for a two-count in the 1st round. In the 4th round, Burroughs knocked Flynn down with a right hand to the jaw. Though he was up without a count, Flynn rose on unsteady legs. Burroughs took control of the bout after this, until the 7th round. In the 7th round, Flynn began to score, before dropping Burroughs with a right hand to the head. Burroughs rose at the count of nine, but was defenseless and quickly put down for a good with a left to the head.
