This was an exciting fighter. Buckler knocked Helms down twice in the 4th round, and had a slight advantage through eight rounds. In the 9th round, Helms floored Buckler with a right hand to the jaw for seven. Helms went in for the finish, but as he had Buckler against the ropes, he was knocked down himself for a count of seven. Buckler went after Helms, but Helms went down again for seven, without a blow landing. Helms would go down once more at the end of the round, for no-count. In the 10th, Helms missed a wild right and went to the floor, but later dropped Buckler to one knee, for no-count.
