Clever Henry 153 lbs beat Wayne Powell 160 lbs by PTS in round 8 of 8

• Date: 1944-01-02
• Location: Civic Auditorium, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA

From The Ring, April 1944, page 47. This was an unpopular decision as Powell was said to have won five rounds and Henry only three. The Honolulu Advertiser reported that Powell knocked Henry down at the end of the 3rd round with a left-right to the jaw. The bell rang with the count at two, and the complexion of the fight changed after that, as Henry did not appear to recover from the knockdown.
