• Date: 1928-01-02
• Location: Music Hall Arena, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
• Referee: Lou Bauman

Rosenbloom took eight out of ten rounds, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Rosenbloom came out as the aggressor, and found Schoell willing to slug with him. Rosenbloom had an edge in the infighting. Schoell blamed his defeat on all the weight he put on in the week before the bout, slowing him down; claiming he weighed 152 pounds a week before.
