Greene knocked Washington down early in the 2nd round for a nine-count, and then threw nearly forty punches in an attempt at finishing him. Washington recovered and hurt Greene, and nearly finished him before the bell rang to end the 2nd round. Washington appeared more tired to begin the 3rd round, and was hurt by a left hook, and dropped for a nine-count. The referee stopped it after Washington rose unsteady.
