Eddie O'Keefe was awarded a TKO victory in round five of a scheduled six round fight tonight over Phil McGovern at the National Atheletic Club of Philadelphia. A Ringside physician ordered the fight stopped in the fifth round in favor of O'Keefe. McGovern floored in the third and fifth rounds, O'Keefe floored in the first and third rounds. The referee felt that both fighters could continue, but the doctor ended the fight. This was a first in Philly boxing history.
