Jim Braddock 173 lbs beat Frankie Lennon 179 lbs by TKO in round 3 of 6
- Date: 1927-04-19
- Location: South Main Street Armory, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA
- Referee: Jack Walton
- Judge: Larry Kendig
- Judge: Mike Bernstein
Braddock knocked Lennon down twice in the 2nd round. Braddock knocked Lennon down again in the 3rd round with a right to the stomach. Assuming Lennon would claim a foul, Walton did not bother to count over Lennon. The ringside doctor examined Lennon, and determined he had not been fouled. The announcer then declared the bout had been ruled a no-contest, boxing commissioner Farrell however read Walton's slip, which stated "Doctor says Lennon was not fouled. Braddock wins." As a result the bout was ruled a technical knockout win for Braddock.
Lennon's purse was held up by the commission.
