Fuentes took the first two rounds, and began some swelling on Saxton's right eye, that eventually swelled shut. Saxton began to take control of the fight in the 3rd, as he let Fuentes lead and countered effectively. Saxton's best round was the eighth when he stunned Fuentes with a right hand that sent him into the ropes. Later in the round, he nailed Fuentes with a combination, that left Fuentes with a cut right eye.
