Lee hurt Fields with right hands in the 4th and 6th round, as Fields was limited to mainly using his left jab. Lee tired over the final three rounds, allowing Fields to score with his left hook.

This bout was supposed to be an eliminator for a possible bout with Freddie Miller in Louisville, that never wound up occurring.
