Tom Collins, 125 3/4, Boston, captured the New England Featherweight title tonight when he knocked out Joey Cam, 124 1/2, Boston, in 2:17 of the opening round of their scheduled 12 round bout at the Mechanics Building. The 20 year old Cam, making his first title defense, went down on his face in his corner when Collins' right exploded on his chin. A veteran of 59 professional fights, Collins won almost before his bride of 6 weeks had been seated in the second row at the ringside. She had made a futile attempt to obtain a license to serve as a second for her 22 year old husband.
