Junior Munsell 186 lbs beat Jack Roper 209 lbs by KO at 1:15 in round 2 of 10
- Date: 1939-12-22
- Location: Legion Stadium, Hollywood, California, USA
- Referee: Jack McDonald
A left hook to the chin floored Roper. Roper attempted to rise, but his right leg appeared to have gone numb, giving him difficulty in his attempts to rise. After he rose, and wobbled, the bout was stopped. Munsell had easily won the first round, opening a cut on Roper's temple.
