Schaaf hurt Winston in the 3rd round, but in the eyes of the Boston Globe, Winston took the last four rounds. While the Boston Globe felt the bout was close, the Boston Herald had Winston winning a total of seven rounds. Both papers noted that Schaaf missed a lot of punches, and felt he was sluggish and fought in spurts.
