Levinksy sagged Ramage's knees with a right hand smash in the 1st round. The two battled relatively evenly until the last two rounds, which Ramage gave away under the impression that he had the fight won. The Los Angeles Times, gave Levinksy five rounds, Ramage four, and one was even. The crowd threw newspapers into the ring in disagreement with the decision.
