In a set of special circumstances for the reality series, Armijo vs. Zaragoza was served as an exhibition match and decoy match to the actual final match for "The Next Great Champ" on the Fox Channel. The fight was halted in the third round as a result of a severe gash over Zargoza's right eye from an overhand left hand by Armijo.
