Knox knocked Haynes down with a right uppercut in the 1st round, and had him nearly finished at the bell. Knox was not overanxious to begin the 2nd round, and carefully probed Haynes, until he scored with a left uppercut that produced the second knockdown. Haynes rose at seven, wobbly, and his gloves were brushed off by the referee. As the referee stepped away to let the fight resume, Haynes collapsed to the canvas again. The bout was stopped.
