McCoy knocked Godwin down in the 4th round with a left hook, and had his mouthpiece sent flying with a hard right cross. In the 6th, McCoy dropped Godwin with a short, stiff left for a two-count. Godwin was belted all over the ring in the 7th round. In the 8th round, McCoy sent him down for a nine count. The referee stopped the bout at this point.
