Ward down in the 5th round. Sanchez dominated the first six rounds over a passive Ward, who appeared to be on his way to getting stopped. Ward had lost the first six rounds on all three judges scorecards heading into the seventh, when a left hook to the body of Sanchez shockingly ended the night. The bizarre turnaround befuddled the HBO commentary crew, who were largely critical of Ward's performance and calling for the fight to be stopped before the knockout.
