Olin started off the bout well, winning the first two rounds. Lewis adjusted though, and began to take over in the 3rd round, and increasingly dominate, as he began to dish out punishment. Lewis had Olin near a knockout in the 12th round, with ringsiders thinking the bout was on the verge of being stopped. Olin however warned his corner not to stop the bout, and rallied enough in the 13th, to hold Lewis even.

Referee Heisner, scored the first two rounds for Olin, had rounds six and thirteen even, and the rest for Lewis.
