"After twice flooring Lomski in earlier rounds, Birkie connected with a right to the heart and a right to the jaw which floored the northerner. The fight was fast from the start, Birkie claiming five rounds and Lomski two. Lomski went down for short counts in the first and fourth rounds, but rocked Birkie with hard rights in the third and seventh cantos." Everett Daily Herald.
