Phil Scott beat Pierre Charles by PTS in round 10 of 10

Before a record crowd of 5,500 at the St.Nicholas Arena, Scott hammered out a victory over Charles. Scott did everything but knock Charles out. He punched Charles's face out of shape on the left side and opened a cut an inch long on his upper lip with left hooks and jabs. He also caused swelling to spread under Charle's right eye. Charles did manage to knock Scott down in the third with a roundhouse right to the jaw which dropped Scott for a count of three. The fight was described as one of the most spectacular heavyweight battles witnessed in recent years at the Arena. Source:New York Times.
