William upsets Stewart!
By Lee Bates at ringside
Super middleweight contender Willie Stewart was shocked by John Roman William in controversial fashion Friday night at the Golden Acorn Casino in Campo, California. Midway through the scheduled ten-rounder, William (16-5, 8 KOs) suffered a back injury and was no longer able to continue. He was taken from the ring on a stretcher. The injury was ruled to be caused by an accidental foul, and the bout went to the cards where William was ahead on two cards 57-56 and a ridiculous 59-54. The other card was 57-57. Stewart (21-2, 12 KOs) was furious with the decision. The card was presented by Guilty Boxing and Bobby D.
