"World bantamweight champion Fighting Harada, 121 3/4, of Japan pounded out a unanimous 12 round decision over Katsuo Saito, 119 3/4, of Japan in a non-title bout today. A straight right hand to the jaw by Harada in the 12th round accounted for the only knockdown of the fight and gave the champion the edge he needed for the victory. Harada did not use his normal aggressive boxing style at the start which was probably a mistake because it permitted Saito to box at long range where he picked up early points." -United Press International
