Bout summary
In an extremely brutal fight, Guillermo Jones dethroned reigning WBA cuiserweight world champion Firat Arslan via tenth round TKO at the Color Line Arena in Hamburg, Germany. Aslan pressed the action in a high tempo contest in which both fighters connected with good shots early on. The much taller Jones progressively busted up the face of Arslan with razor sharp punching while the superbly conditioned Arslan returned many hard connects on his end, as well. Referee Luis Pabon had the ring doctor examine Arslan's cuts in round seven. Jones continued to attack viciously and got the best of it until Pabon finally stopped the bout in round ten. "The Incredible Expanding Man" Jones had previously challenged twice for the WBA super welterweight title in 1998. - fightnews.com 2008-09-27
