Vidas was beaten handily by Johnson in the second round of a ten round featured bout. Johnson knocked Vidas down in the first round with two powerful punches to the jaw. Vidas was down for the count of nine but made it to his feet and held off an explosive assault by Johnson to finish the round. In the second round Johnson was in full command as he barraged Vidas with a series of face and body shots before finally connecting with a hard right to the jaw to drop Vidas to the canvas. Vidas tried to get up at the count of seven but fell back to the mat. The match ended at one minute and 50 seconds in the second round. Both men weighed in at one hundrerd and ninety five pounds.
