In a bloody ten round war, featherweight Francisco Leal (16-5-3, 9 KOs) won a ten round split decision over previously unbeaten Robert Marroquin (19-1, 14 KOs) on Saturday night at the WinStar Casino, Thackerville, Oklahoma. A strong effort by Leal surprised Marroquin, who was cut and and had his left eye swollen shut in the bout. Rounds were very competitive with widely divergent scores of 99-92, 96-94 for Leal, 97-93 Marroquin.
