Following in the footsteps of his older brother Wade, Frank Lumpkin became a professional boxer. After his boxing career ended, Lumpkin, a lifelong activist for worker rights, was best known for leading the Save Our Jobs Committee when Chicago's Wisconsin Steel mill abruptly closed down in 1980.
