"Fred Apostoli, the crown prince of the middleweights, had corns on both fists today from hammering away at the bomb-proof jaw of Glen Lee from Nebraska. Apostoli could get no better than a fairly emphatic decision over Lee in a furious 12 rounder at the Garden last night. Lee bent now and then, but he never broke, and at the end he still was digging away with both mitts. Lee bled from his nose all the way, and in the 5th round he barely escaped a knockout, but he fought back so gamely that the crowd of 12,000 booed the decision." -Associated Press
- Scorecards - The AP report stated that referee Arthur Donovan scored the fight 6-5-1 for Lee. However, the report was a bit vague on the judges score. The officials were unnamed and it only stated that they each accorded Apostoli nine rounds, but did not state if any of the remaining rounds were even or scored totally for Lee.
